Organisations are required to be committed to providing a safe working environment for all workers, visitors both on and off site at all times. Australian state WHS bodies outline legal requirements that must be adhered to with heavy fines for non-compliance.  For NSW businesses, the following applies:

In accordance with the New South Wales Work Health & Safety Act 2011, you are obligated to:

  • Report notifiable incidents
  • Consult with workers
  • Ensure compliance with notices issued under this Act
  • Ensure the provision of training and instruction to workers about work health and safety
  • Ensure that health and safety representatives receive their entitlements to training
